Vasi Skanzen
The open-air ethnographic museum opened its doors in 1973 as the second skanzen in the country. Since then, its attractions have been continually expanding.
Among its residential buildings, visitors can find poor peasant, wealthy peasant, and noble homes, as well as houses with wattle-and-daub, wicker, and mud walls. The original furnishings provide insight into the 18th- to 20th-century rural lifestyle, introducing, for example, the historical changes in kitchen and room heating devices.
The Skanzen also features permanent and temporary exhibitions. With events that are constantly renewed, it welcomes visitors throughout the year. The museum also hosts traditional and artisan programs. For families with young children, the indigenous Hungarian animals may be the most exciting sights.
