According to local legends, during the Turkish siege, Sultan Suleiman I watched what he believed to be the decisive battle from this place. However, Captain Miklós Jurisics repelled the army besieging Kőszeg, which was marching towards Vienna.
The lookout tower was built in 2012 in memory of the 1532 Turkish battle, offering a beautiful view of the city and the Kőszeg Mountains.
